Factory paint codes are a beginning, not an answer. The code tells you what pigments were specified on a particular model in a particular year. It doesn’t account for the supplier who made the paint that week, the temperature in the body shop that day, or the six decades of UV exposure since.
Our color matching process works from the car itself. We take samples from protected areas — door jambs, under trim, inside the boot — where the original finish has been shielded from the elements. We run spectrophotometer analysis on these samples and build a formula that matches not just the pigment profile but the flake size, flake orientation, and sheen level of the original application.
The result is a formula that’s specific to your car. We archive it permanently, so any future repairs — even decades from now — can be matched back to the same standard.
