Engine Bay & Chassis Refinishing

Best for: Concours-prep, frame-off restorations, or owners who want what's underneath to match what's on top.

A car’s finish tells the full story when every surface is right. Engine bays and chassis that haven’t been touched in decades are the most common area where an otherwise-correct restoration breaks down under scrutiny.

We approach engine bay and chassis work with the same research discipline as exterior color. Factory documentation — build records, period photography, owners club references — determines the correct color, sheen level, and application method. Semi-gloss black was correct for many British cars of the 1960s; body color engine bays were standard on others. Getting it wrong is the kind of detail that separates a correct car from a close car.

Suspension components, inner fenders, firewall, and trunk pans are all within scope. This service is often combined with a full exterior restoration, but we also handle chassis work on cars whose exteriors are being done elsewhere.
